Silly.Beatuiful.Life {a happy Monday giveaway!}

I'm so excited to bring you today's giveaway!
Let me introduce you to Fallon, of Silly.Beautiful.Life.

Hello to all you girlys over at Alexandra Rose! I have been blessed enough to know this amazing woman for... gosh, about 15 years. (We're not really thaaaat old, we were just really young!) I would have never thought that here we would be, making handmade and getting our blog on!! But here we are, and here is a little about me!

I am the luckiest mama and wife! I have two little boys 3.5 years and 16 months.

They keep me on my toes and very VERY busy.
Not too long ago, I was struggling with post partum depression, and needed an out for myself. That is how Silly.Beautiful.Life came to be. I started crafting when I was pregnant with my first son, Braxton, so I had all the materials I could need for a while, and started taking a little "me" time. I was new to shopping on etsy, but fell in love with {just.lovely.things} as so many of us have, and then came the profound thought. "I can open a shop. Yup, I think I can do it... but wait.." (this is where you insert a million doubts!) Hubby was/is so extremely supportive, that I decided to give it a shot. Its all still very new, and I am slowly learning my way, but I am loving every minute of it! I love all things sparkly, shiny, and anything that makes me feel pretty, so that is exactly what you will find in the shop!!!

Beautiful items, right?
Wanna know my other favorite thing about Fallon and her shop?
{rhetorical question}
Each month she donates a portion of her proceeds to a new charity!
This month, Fallon is making donations to Operation Christmas Child...talk about feeling good about your purchase!

And, you can do more than just help donate to a great cause...
Fallon is giving you all the chance to win a store credit to the Silly.Beautiful.Life shop!

Here's how to get in on it:

The Shine Project {an inspirational giveaway!}

I'm soooo excited to feature Ashley, of The Shine Project

Ashley is FULL of inspiration, creativity, compassion and has great style :)

She blogs over at The Shine Project where she hosts weekly challenges, holds service projects all while inspiring and motivating us all.

And, in case that's not enough,
Ashley recently started a program called Change4Change

I have a first hand experience of seeing the struggles that inner city high school students go through on a daily basis. After working with them for my internship last semester, my heart was touched. There are so many kids that have SO much potential, and just need someone to help them see it. Well I've seen it, and I want to show them that they can accomplish hard things. This is why I started putting money from each shine necklace sold into the Shine Scholarship Fund.

My goal is to raise $20,000 for The Shine Project Scholarship Fund by the end of October. The money will specifically be going to four students at Cesar Chavez High School in Phoenix, Arizona, to help them pay for their first year of college. This will be accomplished in two ways. The first way is by doing CHANGE for CHANGE jars. You have the opportunity to get involved by pledging to do a CHANGE jar. I have tags to send you, and for the next three months you will throw your leftover change in this jar. Those of you who are brave will also get your friends, neighbors, and businesses around you to to show a little love and donate.
MY GOAL IS TO HAVE 100 OF YOU PLEDGE TO RAISE $100 BY OCTOBER.
If you think about it, $100 really isn't that much. But when 100 people ban together to make a difference, $10,000 suddenly is able to change 2 student's lives.

If you're not in a position to donate money,
Ashley is also collecting items for a silent auction that will be held on
October 20th
All proceeds will go directly to the scholarship fund
that will help send inner city kids to college.

If you are interested in having a Change4Change jar,
or would like to donate items to the silent auction,
please email Ashley at: Ashley.TheShineProject@gmail.com

Today, Ashley is giving one of you the chance to WIN one of her
Shine necklaces!

Fabulous Finds Friday: DondaLees

Happy Friday!
Today I'm up in Portland,
but I didn't leave ya hangin'

We're going to get to know Dondi,

the owner and creator of DondaLees!

Howdy everyone! My name is Dondi and I’m the creator behind a little handmade business, called “DondaLees”. My passion is COLOR and my inspiration comes from all things Shabby Chic, whimsical, vintage and retro. Being creative is just a part of who I am, but it wasn’t until this year that I decided to take that leap of faith and start my own business. Thanks to the support of my wonderful family-my dream became a reality! I’ve learned SO much since jumping into the handmade world. Everyone has been so encouraging and inspiring! I started out by making custom adult jewelry with a western flair then I moved on to children’s jewelry and decorative frames. Lately, I’ve been working on fabric magnets, hand stamped gift tags and stationary. And in the coming days I’ll be releasing my NEW line of shabby chic/vintage adult accessories!

When I’m not holed away in my craft nook you can find me: studying the Bible, spending time with my family, herding my 8 cats (that's what we do in Texas), drinking iced chi lattes, being inspired by my favorite magazines (I love wedding magazines!), texting my sister (who’s also my best friend), walking in the pasture while wearing my rain boots (they keep the chiggers and snakes at bay!) shopping for antique treasures (Ball jars!!!), or watching a really long BBC drama (the longer the better). =)
Nice to meet y’all!

What an adorable country girl she is :)

DondaLees is filled with everything you can imagine...there really is something for everyone!
Here are a few of my favorite items

Adorable, huh?

So, head on over to DondaLees and tell her hi!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Little Blue Feather {an adorable giveaway!}

Ok, guys...
I've been MIA for the last few days,
but I'm back in action and ready to start the week out right with a giveaway!

I was soooo excited when Michelle wanted to do a giveaway, and I know you will be too!
Michelle is the owner, designer and creator behind Little Blue Feather

An adorable shop featuring a variety of handmade, fabric items - including appliqued and screen printed shirts and onesies. They are literally to-die-for adorable!

Let's meet her, shall we?!

{ok, she might even be more adorable than the items in her shop!}

Hi there!  My name is Michelle and I am the one behind Little Blue Feather, an online boutique that specializes in appliqued baby onesies, toddler shirts, hair accessories and home decor items!  I love creating unique appliques by mixing colorful printed cotton fabrics and buttons for added interest and texture.  Every piece of my applique is hand drawn, hand cut and machine sewn to the garment.  Along with appliqued shirts, I also like spending time drawing new images for upcoming screen printed shirts and sewing pillows and fabric banners for the home!

When I am not working on Little Blue Feather, I spend the days with my husband and two boston terriers.  I really enjoy taking small road trips, photography, writing in my blog, spending time with friends and family, ice cream, and living near a national park!

The name Little Blue Feather came about because all of my onesies are wrapped in fabric with ribbon, a card and little blue feather before shipping!

Check out some of the appliqued onesies in the Little Blue Feather shop

I know, I told you to-die-for adorable, but you weren't expecting them to be that cute, huh?

Well, Michelle is giving you the opportunity to win one of these adorable custom baby onesies!
{perfect for your own little one, or giving as a gift!}

Living In Yellow {Guest Post}

Happy Friday my lovelies!
I can't belive today is the last day of our vacation
and that we'll be heading home tomorrow!

Today's guest blogger is my very newest
{is that a word?!}
bloggy buddy
and I already love her dearly.

If you want a good laugh, head over to her blog.
You won't be disappointed,
for reals.

Anyway,
here's Erin!!

Hello to all you pretty little ladies
 {and all you handsome gents that I am sure are "secretly" reading ;)}
I am so excited to be over here today.
My name is Erin and I come from Living In Yellow.

To learn more about me click here.
The real reason I am here today is to teach you a lesson:
You may be craftier than you think.
You see-there is not a crafty bone that exists in my body {or so I thought}.
I have a lot of bones that enjoy purchasing items already made-laying in the sun-and drinking a good glass of wine-but none that like to "make" things.
Until now.
I have been blessed with a sister and friends who have those
"I can make anything and make it look cute" genes.
They have talent-they understand how to use a needle and thread-
and they certainly know not to touch the end of a plugged in hot glue gun.
This same sister and friends have decided to start hosting "Craft Nights" every so often, and if you know me...you know I don't like to miss out on a party.
So I've been going.
And I've been crafting.
And somehow, someway, I have been able to create these three masterpieces
{or something of that sort}:

Booyah.
For information on how to make the following:
click here {spring wreath}
here {mossy letter}
and here {nest necklace}.
All of which were much easier than I thought, didn't take excruciating amounts of time, and actually brought me a sense of fulfillment as I finished them.
So whether you are a craft inspirer or inspiree-
keep challenging yourself-
try new things-
and consider doing so amongst a group of friends.
What is better than girl time, a bunch of scrap pieces of fabric, cookies, and a bottle of wine?
Nothing.
That's what =)
Side Note: Please tell your husband that you have to water your mossy letter daily in order for it to survive. You will be amazed at how big his eyeballs get and how fast his jaw hits the floor.
Definitely the highlight of the craft ;)
Crazy man still does not realize that if it requires attention, it does not belong in our household.
..And just for the record-No, the mossy letter does not require water ;)
Welp kiddos, that's all I've got for ya today.
Thank you Alex for allowing me to share with your amazing readers.
You are all gems.
And hey-come check me out...I'd love to have ya :)
Happy Weekend Beauties!
